Context
MedVault Health operated 23 clinics across three states but managed patient communication through phone calls and paper forms. Patients missed appointments, records were siloed, and staff burned hours on manual follow-ups.
Constraint
The portal needed HIPAA compliance from day one, had to integrate with an aging HL7 v2 EHR system, and the entire MVP had to ship before their next board meeting — 12 weeks away.
What We Built
We designed and built a responsive patient portal: secure messaging, appointment scheduling with SMS reminders, lab result viewing, and an intake form builder that auto-synced to their EHR. The backend ran on a HIPAA-eligible AWS stack with end-to-end encryption.
